"The Spirit of Jim Crossley Award"

Awarded to those members of the Western Forum of Credit & Financial Executives who demonstrate a long term commitment to the Forum, and encourage camaraderie amongst the members of the credit profession.

In 2006 at the Annual General Meeting of the Western Forum or Credit & Financial Executives we made the first presentation of “The Spirit of Jim Crossley Award”. The inaugural recipient was Dan Oleksiuk, as chosen by the board of directors.

It is now time for membership to consider deserving members, and to make nominations for the 2015 recipient. Please consider the dedication at the top of this page. There are many members in our organization who have been members for more than 20 years and who exemplify the meaning of this award.

To make your nomination please complete this form and return it to Heather Strack at

strack@shaw.ca or fax 604-576-7612, or forward it to any member of our board.

Nominations must be received by April 30, 2015 to be considered. The final decision will be made by the board and the award will be presented at our AGM in West Kelowna.

Being a member in good standing of the Western Forum of Credit & Financial Executives, I hereby nominate to be considered as the recipient of the 2015 Spirit of Jim Crossley Award.

Education on Wine tasting!

It goes without saying that our roles are ever changing and as such we should be prepared for any and all opportunities they present. As such many of us are put in the position of attending social events/dinners with suppliers/customers where wines are discussed, tasted and debated. This evening will provide an overview on the subject of wine that we can take to these events and speak cohesively to. That, and it should be a great time!

Speaker

Mr. Vito Maracic

Sales Executive – The Kirkwood Group

After holding down a 'real job' for about 13 years, Vito's love of wine led him to pursue a career in the field over 20 years ago. He hasn't looked back, and continues to enjoy 'all things wine related'  as he makes the rounds as a sales consultant with The Kirkwood Group here in the Lower Mainland, focused on presenting wines and spirits to a variety of restaurants, bars and liquor stores.

Particular interests include Old World reds, California Cabs and Zinfandels, our own great BC wines; most importantly, sharing wine with others and de-mystifying this enjoyable gift of the gods!

AGENDA

3:30 pm Meeting

4:15 – 5:30 – Wine education & tasting
